Une vie dans les mots

Paul Auster and Inge Birgitte Siegumfeldt’s book, A Life in Words. Paul Auster in Conversation with I.B. Siegumfeldt (Seven Stories Press, 2017) is also out now in French, beautifully translated by Celine Curiol and entitled Une vie dans les mots (Actes Sud, January 2020).

Actes Sud’s jacket shows one of Sam Messer’s lesser known paintings of Auster’s typewriter held in light colours in contrast to the darker painting used by Seven Stories Press and indeed to Messer’s much more colourful depiction of Auster juggling letters behind his word machine on the cover of Lindhardt & Ringhoff’s Danish translation of the book.
